Our new CD „Musik aus den letzten Shtetln“ contains 15 pieces + 3 more as „hidden tracks“, all of them published by Isaak Loberan in his books on „Jewish Musik“.

You can purchase this CD in the Jewish Museum of Vienna, Dorotheergasse 11 in 1010 Wien.

Please click on „Concerts“ – there you can look at our

„Virtual Spring Concert“ 2021
recorded during the presentation of this CD.

The following audio samples are taken from our first  CD Isaak  – recorded in 2017 at the former granary called the „Schüttkasten“ at Schloss Primmersdorf. The title was chosen in Isaak Loberan’s honour. Recording, mastering and layout of the CD Isaak were contributed by Markus „Eliot“ Henning. All rights reserved by all performers involved.

The CD was very well received by the audience. Some musicians‘ comments are quoted at the end of this page.

Good news!

Gert’s birthday party took place on July 7, 2018, at a location rich in tradition, the Liebhartstaler Bockkeller

Amongst our guests were a number of well known Viennese klezmer musicians. They joined on stage after the official program had ended and performed a „klezmer jam session“ – enthusiastically clapped by the audience!
This is the live-recording of „Nifty’s Freylakh“ (Naftule Brandwein)
featuring Isaak Loberan, Sasha Danilov, Christian Horvath and „di libn layt“.

The following sample is a live-recording of the Rumanian sheperd dance Zhok taken at our concert „1. Frühlingskonzert in der Roten Kapelle“, 21 March, 2019. The audience was definitely in „spring-mode“ after listening!

Di libn layt Zhok (live) at Schönbrunn

21 August, 2019 Isaak Loberan and „di libn layt“ performed an evening concert at the convention „Internationaler Kristallographen-Kongress“ at Schloss Schönbrunn. Michael was performing elsewhere, Roland Döringer from Heilbronn played e-bass.

We played some pieces of our new CD „Muzik fun leztn shtetl“. Inspired by the fate of the chassidic Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Halberstam, the Klausenburger Rebbe, we interpreted the traditional Nigun „di chasidim forn tsum rebn“. As if by a wonder Rabbi Halberstam survived the extermination camps of Auschwitz and Dachau. He lived for two years in the camp for „displaced persons“ in Föhrenwald near Munich rebuilding a chassidic community.

A live-recording at our next rehearsal will be inserted here.

Di libn layt · Di Hasidim forn tsum rebn (live)

This recording features a track from our new CD. Joining us virtually from Kiev are our friends of the Ukrainska Silska Orchestra.
